Position Overview
Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment according to employer specifications. Repairing/Rebuilding industrial machinery. Set up and maintain welding equipment.
Key Responsibilities
(Including but not limited to)
- Read, interpret, and produce structures off blueprint drawings
- Operate manual or semi- automatic welding equipment
- Operate grinders and other cutting tools
- Be fit for duty (clean shaven, not impaired, limit fatigue)
- Maintain housekeeping in welding areas
- Manually lift steel and other building materials
- Use the shop crane or loader to mechanically lift steel and other building materials
- Maintain and monitor parts and consumables usage
- Report all hazards, near misses and incidents to your supervisor
- Actively participate in safety initiatives of both CSD and Clients
- Inspect, use, and maintain PPE assigned or given to you
- Refuse to perform any task you have not been trained to do
- Follow company policies, procedures, and practices
- Perform pre-use inspections on all tools, equipment, and vehicles before use
Qualifications & Experience
- Journeyman or Apprentice Welding Certificate
- Work well alone or with others
- Able to meet fabrication deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to read blueprint drawings
- Strong prioritizing, planning and organizational skills
- Understands importance of confidentiality
- High stress tolerance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
